Fishing Locations for trips:

  • STILL BAY-Lappiesbaai Beach to Moquini Beach: One of the most underrated surfs in the Southern Cape for surf fishing. It’s one of our favorite surfs to fish when conditions is right. You can fish for anything from small fish to big fish. Fishing from the beach is very safe, there is very few currents and no crime. Fish you can expect to hook into is Cob, Shad (Bluefish), Spotted Grunter and Pignose Grunter (White Steenbras). For the shark angler there is the Common Lesser Sand Shark, Smooth Hound Shark, Copper Shark (Bronze Whaler Shark), Grey Shark, Hammerhead Shark, Spotted Gully Shark, Spotted Raggedtooth Shark (Sand Tiger), Giant Black Ray, Blue Ray and Diamond Ray

  • Preekstoel-This is for anglers that enjoys fishing for edible fish. “Preekstoel” you fish from sand onto reef or reef onto sand.Fish you can expect to hook into is edibles like Cob, Shad, Bluefish, Spotted Grunter, Pignose Grunter (Wit Steenbras), Blacktail, Zebra, Galjoen and a Baardman. Also you will get sharks at Preekstoel like Smooth Hound Shark, Spotted Gully Shark, Spotted Raggetooth Shark (Sand Tiger), Copper Shark (Bronze Whaler Shark) and the Eagle Ray.

  • Harbour Wall, Still Bay-This is one of the best strong water fishing spots in our area. The best weather for the Harbor is strong South-East and a big swell . The fish you can expect to run into on the Harbor Wall is big Rays and sharks like Duckbill Ray, Diamond Ray, Giant Black Ray, Spotted Raggedtooth Shark (Sand Tiger), Copper Shark (Bronze Whaler Shark) Grey Shark, Smooth Hound Shark, Spotted Gully Shark and “Vaalhaai” (Soupfin Shark). You also get edible fish on fishing from the Harbor Wall such as Black Tail Garrick, Shad (Blue Fish), Cob, Zebra, Baardman and the odd White Muscle Cracker.

  • Morris Point, Still Bay-This is heaven for the edible fish anglers. What makes it heaven is that you can catch a different specie with every cast. And from time to time we will see the Great White Shark cruising past. Fish you’ll be seeing here is Hammerhead Shark, big and small Copper Shark (Bronze Whaler) also Grey Sharks of all sizes. Then you get the big Spotted Raggedtooth Sharks on this rock.

  • Jongensfontein/Blombos (Reserve), Still Bay-Odendaals’Punt: This is a place close to my heart. The only challenge is the 2km walk to the fishing spot. But every step worth it. It is a rocky point into the sea where it is easy to fish from and the best of all is the beach on your right hand side to land the big fish you hook on the rock. You really can expect anything from Galjoen, Yelow Tail, big Cob, White Muscle Cracker and Black Muscle Cracker. When we it gets to shark fishing, its heaven. You will also get big ray’s like the Diamond Ray, Duckbill Ray and the Giant Black Ray.
